Valentines craft ideas?

As we break in the new year in Edmonton, Alberta my wife and I (and our 9 kids of course) are already looking for Crafty Valentine's Day ideas. So naturally the first thing we do is hit the Internet searching for Valentine's Day craft ideas. The fact that my wife just loves hearts starts our search off with valentines heart crafts ideas. Although we found lots of crafty ideas we decided instead to design a little crafty valentine card that can be put together quickly and be given to friends.…

Thread Play Bargello

After months of staring at my wife's bargello on the wall in my long arm studio, I finally became inspired to recreate the concept in thread. This is a practice run at a larger piece I will quilt in the very near future.

This is only half of the design. It will be mirrored above to create a giant bargello

An invitation to all quilters.

Recently, I decided that this site would be too small If I focused only on male quilters as members. In a few days, I am going to put out an open invitation to all quilters to join this group.

A brand new community for Male quilters

I am so happy to finally create this community for other guys to share their experiences as quilters. I have searched high and low for an easy to use Men's community that allows members to easily comment on others photos. I have found way more men out there in quilter land they I ever imagined but a real lack of community exists.

Hopefully this will become a vibrant community where we care share tips and tricks with other men in this Female dominated industry. Over the next couple… Continue

Hi Matt, thank you for creating this site, I am sure it will get very busy here once the word gets around. I have been quilting for about a year now, and love it. I have taken some courses at Qulters Dream, and will be signing up for more again in the fall. I am sure I will learn lots here. Have a great day..Lynne

I need my music fix. I miss not seeing you in your quilt room playing. Check out my blog and you will see what I've been up to. Lots of good things are coming from me. Seems I've gotten my mojo back.

Thanks for the welcome Matthew, I'm really a novice at quilting, still working on getting my seams straight! LOL I also design some of my own templates using the clear plastic to trace the paper ones then cut them to size.

Hey Matthew!
Thanks for the welcome - I have just "discovered" quilting after working in a friend's shop as a data consultant in the back office. She recently opened a shop here in Dubai to cater for the craft needs of creative people, but on the fabrics and haberdashery side. (http://www.mycraftland.com/) I have done the first quilt (which currently is with a lady for the actual quilting and will post photos the moment I get it back. About to start the second now and will admit to having been bitten...
Cheers
Louis

Hi Matthew, I found this site after you commented on a quilt I had posted on MQR and I followed your link. Glad to find this here. Your quilts are great. The wholecloth is beautiful! Love the McTavishing, too. I bought her book recently and have been doing some drawing, but can't seem to figure out how to get back and fill in the empty spaces. There's a DVD with the book I haven't watched yet so hopefully she explains it better there . . . Anyway, happy quilting!
