I am new here. I am originally from Vancouver but now I live in a small village in mountains in Japan where I have a small silk and indigo farm. I reel the cocoons and weave material on old Japanese looms and using old tools. I have been growing indigo for almost twenty years and always have a vat going. I have made some quilts with traditional Japanese textiles and with scraps of indigo I have dyed myself. I want to work more on  designing stencils and using them to dye cloth that will eventually be made into quilts. Any questions about indigo or Japanese textiles please drop me a line. I (try to) write a blog about textile techniques I teach to Japanese here.  http://japanesetextileworkshops.blogspot.jp/ I was volunteering up in Miyage at a tsunami victim housing center last fall. Teaching indigo dying techniques was more useful than carrying debris all day.
