First blog post...

I thought I'd share one of my current projects.  This quilt is from the RRCB mystery quilt pattern by Bonnie Hunter.

If you don't follow Bonnie, she is big on large quilts with lots of tiny scrap pieces.  This is my second quilt made from one of her patterns.  The first was the triple irish chain that I posted a picture of a couple of days ago.  That quilt was made as a leaders/enders project and took a couple of years to piece because I was piecing it along with other quilts.

Bonnie designed RRCB to be a large bed sized quilt, but in TX, we don't really need that many bed sized quilts as we only use them for a few months a year.  But, as she revealed the clues each week, I continued to make as many pieces as she called for.  Making a lap sized quilt left me with a lot of small sections and I plan to use them as a Jacob's Ladder quilt and a string pieced quilt to donate to Project Linus.

Okay, so that's it for a first post.  Hope everyone is having a great day.  Lane

What a great way to use up your scraps! Thanks for sharing.

Looks good!  I'm doing this one, too, though instead of the pinks I'm using cheddars.  I got behind so I still have some string squares to make and the red-neutral triangle squares.  Seeing the photo makes me eager to pull it out again and finish up.
